jan 1, 1890 - Punch Card

Description:

Early computers often used punch cards for input of both programs and data. Punch cards were in common use until the mid-1970's. It should be noted that the use of punch cards predates computers. They were used as early as 1725 in the textile industry. It was invented by Herman Hollerith and Semen Korsakov. I couldn't find the original price, bu today, one costs around $0.16.
