With the alcohol industry growing, and more consumers coming, there was also an increasing number of social issues related to alcohol abuse. These included losing household income to alcohol purchases, and ncreased voilence. These issues combined with strong christian vlaues, led women to form the Canadian WOman's Christian Temperance Union.
