jan 31, 1896 - Grain and the maritimes

Description:

In 1896 the Canadian government began to integrate wheat and vegetable farming into their economy, due to the heavy increase of output from the maritime provinces. This was primarily caused by the larger focus by the developing US markets and the large number of Irish immigrants with agricultural background.
