dec 30, 1571 - Treason Act
Description:
The treason act made it treason to levy war against the queen, incite others to do so, intend the queen bodily harm and to suggest that she was not the rightful monarch.
It also said that anyone who left the country for more than 6 months could have their land confiscated
These laws were put in place against the 'bulls' of Rome and against people going abroad to train as missionaries (seminary priests).
