jul 16, 1945 - Trinity Test (Manhattan Project)

Description:

President Roosevelt died on April 12 of 1945, leaving Harry Truman to take over the office of the presidency. Knowing that they needed a strategic edge over their enemies, the U.S. began working on secret tests to create a nuclear weapon between 1939-1945. On the morning of July 16 of 1945, the first ever nuclear weapon was successfully detonated in a test. Albert Einstein was instrumental in the planning and creation of this bomb. The devastating results of this test would be seen less than a month later in Japan.
