dec 21, 1870 - John Tyndall
Description:
Tyndall created Tyndall's box which had the same purpose as the swan necked flask experiment - its sticky walls removed dust from the air and so could show that without microbes from the air no bacteria grew on urine.
He publicised his work in England as well as that of Koch ad Pasteur.
He tried to explain the typhoid outbreak using germ theory in 1874 which had gained publicity after Prince Albert died from it in 1861.
