Description:
The Booth reports were entitled: 'the life and labour of the people in London' and focused on poverty statistics for London.
His investigators mapped out poverty in London and found the around 30-35% of Londoners were living in abject poverty and he popularised the idea of a poverty line which he set at 10-20 shillings.
He argued for pentions and liberal reform to prevent a socialist uprising.
