dec 31, 1799 - The St.Lawrence timber trade

Description:

Starting in during approximately 1800, Great Britain had thoroughly exhausted their forests for Timber, resulting in having to buy large quantities from the Canadian colonies who were flush with timber. Much of the trading occurred up and down the St. Lawrence and Ottawa river. And since then, Lumber has continued to be one of Canadas largest exports to this day.
