The RCA offers to record Freddie Keppard, who again refuses the offer in fear of having his style stolen. This causes him to miss the opportunity to be the first Jazz performer ever recorded. The "Original Dixieland Jazz Band" are inaccurately credited with the start of the Jazz era because of this.
