Description:

Lake Ontario and Erie were where most Naval battles took place. Both sides in the war had armed sailing ships. An important naval encounter took place at Lake Erie on 10 September 1813. With Captain Robert ordering the British Naval. For a short period of time, Barclay blockaded the harbour where the American ships arrived. They moved their fleet out into the lake where they fought. The Americans were victorious. They captured all six of the British ships defending Lake Erie. Barclay was seriously injured and taken prisoner.
