Description:
A sizable faction of people across the world, and also in locations away from Earth, reached the conclusion that "unchecked technological development will kill off the human race". Based on this belief, a sufficient majority of United Nations member countries passed an international law which placed strict limits on technological growth and research. The United Nations used draconian measures to enforce the law.
