apr 3, 1948 - Marshall Plan Passed

Description:

One major concern that many in the United States had was that extremely poor conditions after the war in Europe would allow for Communist insurrections within those countries to grow easily. In response to this concern, the Marshall Plan was passed by Congress as a plan to donate billions of dollars to the reconstruction of Europe as U.S. friendly nations that would be allies against the Soviet threat rather than enemies. (Continuity: U.S. trying to prevent communism from spreading)
