Description:
The Pullman Strike began when 4000 factory workers in Pullman, Chicago striked in response to wage cuts. The workers were represented by the ARU, a union for unskilled railroad workers led by Eugene Debs. The strike led to a large boycott of the railroads, riots, etc. President Cleveland sent the army to stop the strike. Violence broke out in many cities and their strike collapsed.
