dec 2, 1823 - (1823) The Monroe Doctrine
Description:
The Monroe Doctrine was a statement issued by President James Monroe in response to European intervention in the New World. The statement included a section that claimed that the United States would no longer be pushed around by foreign powers and would not become involved in foreign affairs unless necessary. (This fierce statement brought great pride in being an American Citizen, and also prevented Europe from re-colonizing the Americas leaving the land to Americans.)
