The Irish were a group of Catholics who had moved into the U.S in pursuit of freedom of religion and job opportunities. The Irish immigration signifies change due to the fact that upon the arrival of the Irish, there was a mass influx in the Immigrant population which changed from 500,000 to 5,000,000 only in the state in Pennsylvania. Additionally, the Irish were discriminated upon their beliefs of god and their "style" to live a life due to the raise of NAtivist sentiments and ideas that the IRish were stealing jobs.
