jun 20, 1963 - 1963: The March on Washington (Following the protests in Birmingham King wished to keep up the pressure and so the civil rights movement organised the march. Unlike other campaigns it took place in the capital and was directed at the heart of the federal government. Over 250,000 people attended the march, which culminated with Kings famous 'I have a dream' speech.)
