dec 24, 1955 - 1955-1956: The Montgomery Bus Boycott (The Boycott began after NAACP activist Rosa Parks was thrown off a bus for refusing to give up her seat for a white person. It gained the near unanimous support of ordinary African American men and women as they were able to protest without exposing themselves to violence and it showed how effective and well organised the protesters could be.
