Description:

Pompeii was a city in Rome. They built Pompeii on a volcano called Mt. Vesuvius. When they built the city they had no idea Vesuvius was a volcano. One day the volcano exploded killing an estimate of 16,000 people. Not all just from the city of Pompeii. People who came to help also died. Not just Pompeii burned either. The eruption ruined the city of Pompeii but the city of Herculaneum as well.
