It was an allied conference of World War II held at Potsdam, a suburb of Berlin. The chief participants were U.S. President Harry S. Truman, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin. The people in the meeting discussed the substance and procedures of the peace settlements in Europe but did not attempt to write peace treaties.
