On this day in Britain, Princess Diana of Wales died after being in a bad car crash in Paris. She was married into the royal family by Prince Charles in nineteen eighty-one. In nineteen ninety-six they became officially divorced one another. The day of the crash Diana and her boyfriend Al-Fayed were having dinner in Paris at Imperial Suite. Their driver Henri Paul was taking the couple to Al-Fayed's apartment after their dinner. The car crashed into the thirteenth pillar of the Pont d’Alma Bridge. Al-Fayed and Henri Paul died instantly at the scene and Dian was rushed to the hospital but later passed away there. The injuries of the crash were very severe, and the doctors did everything they could, Diana was thirty-six years old. The only survivor of the car crash was Diana’s bodyguard Ress Jones. Diana’s funeral was in London with at least one million people who wanted to show their respects. An investigation of the crash reveals that Paul the driver was intoxicated and was driving above the speed limit. Diana left behind her two sons William and Harry, she also left her charitable legacy.
