The cultural revolution was the communist parties way of destroying Chinas four old’s, old habits, old culture, old ideas, and old customs. This was one of the greatest setbacks in China history. This revolution brainwashed the teenagers of the time creating a cult-like obsession with Mao’s idea of a new China. This caused many people to turn against family members, exposing them to the red guards. Chinese people who spoke out against this revolution were put on trial and were killed.
