On September 1, 1939 the USSR invades Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland which results in the USSR gaining more land and resources. With all this new territory the USSR has gained (including part of Poland, which they were also attacking at the time) they are now bordering even more of Germany, which leads to Operation Barbarossa in 1941.Added to timeline:
