Description:
In 1932, Lee Bong-Chang, a Korean Independence Activist, attempted to assassinate emperor Hirohito. The attempt took place in Tokyo, Japan, outside of the Imperial Palace. Lee Bong-Chang attempted to throw a hand grenade into Hirohito’s horse carriage. The grenade missed and killed two horses instead. Lee Bong-Chang was quickly arrested and later executed in Ichigaya Prison.
