The Civil Rights Movement decided to go after Eugene ‘Bull’ Connor (Police Chiefs). Dr. King used students and took to the street, where they were met with fire hoses, attack dogs, & cattle prods. King, along with many of the other protestors, was arrested, where he wrote “Letter From a Birmingham Jail." This embarrasses JFK because it makes the US look bad in foreign countries.
