Bus Boycott
Description:
Rosa Parks refuses to move from her seat for a white person. This began a bus boycott which was led by her pastor, Martin Luther King Jr. Most African American residents walked, carpooled, or hitched rides until the bus lines were forced to change their policies. This was effective because most people who rode the buses were black.
