jan 1, 1876 - Telephone
Description:
In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell patented the first practical telephone. This telephone worked by using a battery to provide a magnetic field that allowed reeds to vibrate. When they vibrated, it reproduced the sound that was put in, on the other end of the phone. This led to the invention of what is now called the cell phone, which is very useful for communicating.
