Description:
Slashers dominated the first half of the 1980s like 'Friday the 13th' and 'Nightmare on Elm Street'. The rest of the decade was filled with movies for the light-hearted, movies with a mix of comic and horror elements. Movies such as 'Return of the Living Dead' and 'Evil Dead 2'. Stephen King marked the decade with many adaptations of his books were spotted like 'The Shining' and 'Pet Sematary'. Despite efforts from newcomers such as Sam Raimi, who wrote 'The Evil Dead', horror's box office had mostly subsided by the end of this decade.
