Description:

Deregulation of EU air travel began in 1987, before this a UK Airline was not allowed to have an airport base anywhere else in the EU, and could only travel from the UK and back to the UK. This mean't that EU airlines could establish themselves in any part of Europe, which gave airlines the chance to have bases all around the world, and led to the development of low-cost airlines, because they could fly anywhere around the world and stop at their bases.
