jan 1, 1937 - Japan invades China
Description:
The start of the 2nd Sino-Japanese war is sometimes thought of as the true start to WWII. The invasion came as a result of growing tensions between Japan and China, due to the previous Manchurian invasion and the Great Depression allowing a nationalistic fascism to rise in Japan, causing further imperialistic ambitions. The war was the bloodiest Asian conflict of the 20th century, and it lasted until V-J day when Japan surrendered and WWII ended.
