nov 9, 1938 - Kristallnacht
Description:
Also known as the Night of the Broken Glass, Kristallnacht was a state-sponsored discriminatory attack on the Jewish community. Synagogues were torched, homes and schools were vandalized and Jewish people were killed (roughly 100). A Jewish teenager shot a German diplomat in Paris in retaliation for the Nazis' treatment of his parents. Goebbels seized the opportunity to stir the event into an anti-Semitic frenzy across the country.
