sep 5, 1774 - 1st Continental Congress of 1774

Description:

In response to the Coercive Acts, the first Continental Congress was held at Carpenters Hall in Philadelphia to consider a united American resistance to the British. 56 delegates from all colonies except Georgia began drafting a Declaration of Grievances to the British King. Georgia was not involved because they were currently in need of British support to help protect their borders. The goal of the entire body was divided, but the significance is the united body amongst the different colonies.
