jul 9, 1807 - End of the British Slave Trade
Description:
The era of the Transatlantic Slave Trade came to an end, as the biggest and most powerful empire in the world at that time stopped trading slaves in Africa. While slavery itself was not abolished until 26 years later, it marked the beginning of a new era, one where Africans were not being taken away from their homes and families forcefully, and could finally start contributing to the rebuilding of their own nations.
