Description:
Roman city buried by volcanic ash in Vesuvius eruption in 79AD. Pompeii had significant infrastructure development during the period as a Roman colony that was typical of Roman cities, including an amphitheatre, a forum, and an aqueduct for public baths, a swimming pool, and street fountains. There was farmland outside of city growing grains and grapes for wine, and a port.
