jan 1, 1920 - Communism developing in China

Description:

-The Soviets sent technical, political, and military advisers to help build a modern Chinese army.
-In 1925, Sun Yixian died so a military commander named Chiang Kai-shek took leadership of the Nationalists.
-When Chiang was in power the Nationalist army gre stronger.
- In 1926, Chiang began a military campaign against the warlords called the Northern Expedition.
-Nationalists gained control of human province and the cities of the Wigan area.
-In 1927, Chiang expelled all Soviet advisers from the country and moved against the party’s left- wing members.
-Troops loyal to Chiang attacked the Communist stronghold of Shanghai.
-They arrested and executed large numbers of Communists.
-Chiang believed that the communists were no longer a threat to his leadership.
-He established a Nationalist government in Nanjing.
- Chiang became a virtual dictator and his efforts to making things better the industrializations was limited by capital.
In 1921, a small group of Chinese intellectuals mat in Shanghai and founded the Chinese Communist Party.
-This communist party was inspired by the russian revolution and the ideas of marx and Lenin.
-The Communist party cooperated with Kuomintang (Nationalists) and defeated the warlords.
-Eventually split and became the enemies of the Nationalists.
