Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife Sophie were shot by a Bosnian Serb nationalist during an official visit to the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo. They killed them to get revenge on Austria- Hungary. The killings led to the outbreak of World War I by early August.Added to timeline:
