may 28, 1821 - South America Independence and Simon Bolivar

Description:

Due mainly to the efforts of Simon Bolivar or Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar Palacios Ponte y Blanco or simply "El Liberator", the now counties of Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Panama now have independence. Although He tried to gain too much power and began to be distrusted by many of the leaders of the other colonies like Jose de San Martin, who at first was a freind and suppoter of Bolivar. This is one of the reasons why South America never united into one country.
