The Battle of Midway was a decisive battle fought in the pacific ocean. Before the decisive battle at midway the Imperial Navy of Japan had been taking over and destroying all of their enemies from the Pacific Ocean. It was vital that the U.S had ended Japan's reign on the Pacific, if the U.S had not won this battle the Imperial Japanese Navy would have controlled the entire Pacific Ocean.
