dec 7, 1941 - Japanese bombing at Pearl Harbor brought the U.S. into WWII
Description:
The bombing of Pearl Harbor was ultimately what brought the U.S into the WWII. Before the bombing of Pearl Harbor the U.S had not done anything to influence the Japanese to attack them. On December 7 1941, just before 8 am, hundreds of of Japanese fighter planes came out of nowhere and begin attacking and destroying anything in sight. The Japanese managed to destroy or damage nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight battleships, and over 300 airplanes. More than 2,400 Americans died in the attack, including civilians, and another 1,000 people were wounded. The day after the bombing President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan.
