Description:
A new group takes control in 1908 called the Committee of Union progress. This pleased the Armenians because it gave them more power in the government and restored the Ottoman constitution. However, as the years go on they are already becoming suspicious of the Armenians so they start to treat them very poorly. Also since it was WWI and the Ottomans lost most of there European land to the Russians in the Balkan War, they lost some of the Armenian lands. The Armenians who were taken by the Russians supported them and the CUP believed that the ones they controlled were going against them. Which they were they made volunteer battalions to give to Russia. In the result of all of this they decided to remove the Armenains out of the east war zone.
