4h 51min, jan 1, 1966 y - 4 Tracks became the "go to" standard in recording studios across the globe.
Description:
The big development with stereo tape recordings gave the musician Les Paul a concept of a 8-track recording, this idea was accepted and developed by the Ampex corporation. In the early 60s Frank Zappa had a custom built 5-track recorder built by Paul Buff in his Pal recording studio in America. In America 4 to 16 track recorders were only available in major studios, this was due to the large import charges and the high prices of the new technology.
