Description:
It was created by the Soviet union and was the first spacecraft to land safely on the Moon. It also transmitted photographs of the Moon back to Earth. It had a radio system, programming device, batteries, thermal control system and scientific apparatus. It also included four antennas and an airbag to land on. Once the spacecraft was launched and reached the Moon, it took panoramas of the Moon.The CIA had tried to figure out and steal the model, so that America would create that spacecraft before the Soviet Union did.Added to timeline:
