apr 19, 1971 - Salyut 1

Description:

The Soviet Union launches the first space station Salyut 1. During 1971 some of the technology invented/used during then were the first e-book ever created, the first programmable microprocessor and Apollo 14 launched and landed on the moon. It is monolithic – constructed and launched in one piece and inhabited by a crew later. Once all of it’s supplies and equipment were used up, it was abandoned (after 175 days) and it burned up over the Pacific Ocean. The Salyut programme continued until 1986.
