jan 2, 1999 - Sony DRE 2777
Description:
The Sony DRE S777 which came out in 1999 was the first real-time convolution processor. Using samples of real spaces (impulse responses) to generate staggeringly convincing environments, it cost over four grand and made compelling alternative to its less realistic algorithmic counterparts. It would give off its own generated sound so that it could measure reverb to create an accurate sense of space in a recording.
