Description:

This policy got its name from being the “new” in comparison to the “old” Czarist economic policy. The New Economic Policies goal was to bring capital into the state, which it did manage to do. Some socialists believed it may have gone a little to far with the free-market economic style. The original ideas was to have capitalism until the economy was strong enough to achieve socialism.
