Description:

this was the end of King Leopold's rule over the Congo Free State and his power was relinquished to the government of Belgium. Due to Leopold's acts of cruelty and inhumanity the colony in Congo was named the Belgian Congo. The parliament attempted to teach the indigenous people Christianity and educate them.
