jan 1, 1920 - Japan's Ultra-nationalism (After Treaty of Versailles) J a p a n

Description:

There are many debatable topics of what caused Japan to become ultra-nationalistic but one thing is for sure and that's the alienation they faced in the Treaty of Versailles meetings despite providing for the war in return they didn't even get treated as an equal. Post world war one, Japan came out as one of the very few countries who had a booming economy unlike most of the world which was facing the great depression. Japan main revenue came from exportation business with its allies, but due to the depression countries no longer had the money to purchase japans goods. with a falling economy japan suffered another blow in 1932, as due to geographic factors the country faced a massive crop failure. with a failing economy and next to no food japan had no choice but to start using military force to achieve control once again. after abolishing their current political system Tojo Hideki became the new leader of the country as he started a new era of dictatorship. There are many other reasons but these caught my attention the most.
