The Tandy Radio Shack Model 100 was one of the first portable computers that was remotely affordable. At the time it cost $599, and came with a 2.4MHz processor, 8-32K of RAM and a 40x8 character LCD display. It ran off of 4 AA batteries, and lasted up to sixteen hours on batteries.Added to timeline:
