aug 3, 1920 - The Group of 7 were created
Description:
-The group of 7 were a group of Canadian landscape painters during the 1920s
-They consisted of Franklin Carmichael, Lawren Harris, A.Y Jackson, Frank Johnston, Arthur Lismer, J.E.H Macdonald, and Frederick Varley
-They’re art “transfigured the Canadian Shield, the dense, northern boreal forest, and endless lakes, into a transcendent spiritual force”.
-I rated +2 as nothing negative came of these wonderful pieces of art. Some people didn’t enjoy the art, but a majority did.
-Definitely inspired future artists such as Rheostatics an indie rock band
