jun 28, 1948 - Yugoslavia expelled from Cominform
Description:
Yugoslavia was expelled from Cominform because Tito (who didn't owe his position to Stalin like many others) continued to express independent communist views that were more nationalist that Stalin's. Commitment to supporting Greek communists and their decision to station troops in Albania played major roles in this.
After the split they requested and received American aid - contrary to other Eastern Bloc countries who deferred to the USSR and refused martial aid. This was separate to Marshall Aid that they had rerjected.
