may 18, 1935 - Guffey-Synder Act (WXT)

Description:

This was passed as a part of FDR’s New Deal. It created a coal commission to set the price of coal and end other unfair practices. It also regulated work hours and wages of coal miners. This act was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court because it gave the government power to regulate prices and limit economic liberty. This represents Work, Exchange, and Technology because it shows one of the United States government’s economic policies during the Great Depression.
